When we travel we usually find out about the restaurants where they offer their typical dishes.
So we decided to make a post to recommend some typical restaurants of our country: Arezzo 😍
Osteria de’ Cenci
Refined environment, composed of modern elements set to perfection in a Renaissance context. Here the owner Francesco Porretti – chef who boasts not only years of culinary experience, but also awards for his original recipes – offers cult dishes such as pappa al pomodoro, pasta al ragù di Chianina, ravioli with chestnut flour and porcini mushrooms, the peposo with duck in porchetta, the Aretina flavored with fennel, the tagliata di Chianina and where the legendary Florentine steak, rigorously cooked on the grill.

The restaurant is furnished in an industrial-chic style and is strongly attentive to the seasonality and freshness of the raw materials used. The menu offered is almost all marine with dishes that vary depending on the availability of the fish. The collection of international rums is incredible, do not spare yourself a taste at the end of the meal.
Lo Zafferano
Elegant, eclectic, and contemporary cuisine with a strong appeal to internationality. The menu of Lo Zafferano offers both meat and fish, but it would seem the latter to take the lion’s share. Seasonal menu that offers special dishes, dictated by the chef’s inspiration such as golden scallops in hemp seeds and a lime mousse or guinea fowl rollè in citrus fruit crust and crispy olives.
Le Chiavi d’Oro
It embodies tradition, innovation, and taste, in a refined and welcoming environment. A classic place for aperitifs, Piazza San Francesco boasts only one restaurant for the many passers-by who can dine outdoors in the summer. The menu ranges from land to sea: cod croquettes with smoked scamorza cheese, potato and leek sauce, tagliatelle with duck sauce, squares stuffed with sea bream with saffron, artichokes and cuttlefish ink, fusilli with broccoli, ricotta and anduja crumble , cuttlefish ink spaghetti with turnip greens and tuna bottarga. There is also a broad overview of the second courses: ossobuco with mushrooms with celeriac puree, guinea fowl baked in foil with chard and fois gras, tuna with goulash sauce, truffle, and candied shallot. The restaurant, obtained from an old and historic library, retains a great charm. The open kitchen is always an excellent business card.
Osteria dei Costanti
At the historic Caffè dei Costanti, also the scene of Benigni’s film La Vita è Bella, in addition to an exceptional coffee, there is a rich aperitif and the best barmen in the city, who under the guidance of the legendary Marco Grotti are able to prepare unforgettable cocktails. Piazza San Francesco, both in summer and winter, is a must stop in Arezzo by night, with its outdoor tables and the street full of boys and girls of all ages.
