Terracina’s Beaches
Terracina’s 4 km-long promenades have traditionally been a popular tourist destination.
A long beach frames a crystalline, clear sea that has been awarded the blue flag for many years. The free access beaches and the furnished beaches alternate in terms of beach bars, restaurants, small shops, and kiosks. Furnished and equipped with everything you’ll need for a relaxing day in the sun. After overcoming your first windsurfing challenge, you may relax and enjoy the delicious local cuisine provided by the beaches.
The beaches of Terracina are the ideal place to spend your vacation by the sea, with everything from boat rentals to a windsurfing school.
RIVA DI SISTO
The beach of Riva del Sisto is located near the mouth of the Sisto river, in the direction of San Felice Circeo. In front of the magnificent Pontine islands, the beach is framed by the gorgeous Circeo Gulf. It’s a long, wide beach with fine golden sand, crystal clear water, and an emerald green sea. The sandy, shallow seabed slopes gently, making it ideal for families with children and inexperienced swimmers. The Riva del Sisto area is very popular with scuba diving and snorkeling enthusiasts due to the presence of numerous underwater caves and fish of all kinds.
LIDO DI FONDI
Lido di Fondi, also known as Salto di Fondi, is a small beach between Terracina and Sperlonga. The beach of Fondi Lido is a great place for sailing enthusiasts to practice decent windsurfing, kitesurfing, and amateur sailing because it is very windy and well exposed to the sun.
LA CANZATORA
The little beach of La Canzatora is located on the boundary of Sperlonga and Terracina. It is a beach with very fine, light-colored sand, a slow-degrading bottom, and is therefore popular with both families with children and young children.
LAGO LUNGO
The beach at Lago Lungo is a naturalistic gem.
The manmade lake is separated from the sea by a stretch of land with sand dunes, vineyards, and Mediterranean scrub. The lake, which runs parallel to the sea, presents a unique situation: being able to enjoy both the sea and the lake while yet concentrating oneself on bathing activities or fishing for eels.
The Blue Flag-awarded crystalline sea features shallow waters that gradually slope and is ideal for families with children.
The sand on both lakeside and marine beaches is beautiful, ranging from pristine white to golden.
The long, narrow beach is divided into a free beach and a beach administered by bathing businesses, where beach equipment such as deck chairs, umbrellas, and sunbeds can be rented. The purple heron, the marsh harrier, the kingfisher, and a variety of butterfly species may all be found in this area, making it an ideal destination for bird watchers.
SPIAGGIA DI TERRACINA
The beach at Terracina is one of the busiest in the Latina district of Lazio.
The beach is long and narrow, with fine-grained and very clean sand, and it is a great place to walk and enjoy the salty air and breathtaking views. The coveted Blue Flag of the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) has been awarded to the pure and crystalline water, and the shallow seabed makes it ideal for families with children. Italian pediatricians gave Terracina the Green Flag for beaches ideal for the family’s youngest members.
Beach popular with visitors of all ages and backgrounds, and ideal for water sports such as surfing and windsurfing due to its position. From the marina, which has many attractions, to the remains of the acropolis, where the Temple of Jupiter Anxur is located, overlooking the city, Terracina’s coastal area offers a great combination of sea and culture. Furthermore, Terracina provides services and links to the surrounding districts, as well as the Island of Ponza, making it a vibrant center both day and night, with parties and events scheduled by the numerous bathing facilities and clubs in the tourist port. The interaction between free beaches and bathing establishments favors the latter, which is equipped for all types of guests and offers pedal boat rentals and food services to suit all preferences.
