Hey everyone, we are Hoomiesclub. Hope everyone is doing good and is in great health. Today in this very blog we will be continuing our trip further all the way from Kwantu towards Oudtshoorn via the very famous Garden Route.

Following a really nice, pleasant stay in Kwantu, we had to leave the very next day in the morning. It was supposed to be a very tiring day for us. Just all about traveling. As you pass through, the entire route is all about beautiful landscape and amazing beauty.

It takes around 5 hours and more to reach Oudtshoorn. It is about 450 km from Kwantu. You need to make a stop in the middle of the journey as you pass through.

We started our journey early in the morning after a nice healthy breakfast at the resort. Followed by this we had to pick some of our friends who were to join us for the further trip. So, we passed through the route to reach Port Elizabeth.

From here we finally started our journey towards Cape Town.

In order to reach Cape Town, it’s actually a very long journey so it’s better to stay back in Oudtshoorn for the night and then start from here towards Cape Town.

In order to reach Oudtshoorn from the nearest airport “Port Elizabeth”, there are four ways to get here.

  • By car: 382 km takes around 4 and half hour
  • By bus: the journey time is around 7 and half hours. It’s a comparatively slower route. There are three buses than run weekly so it’s better to check the schedule and book in advance. They drop you at George which is the nearest station. The schedule varies for the weekends and holidays.
  • By flight

You can even reach Knysna which is about 92 km from Oudtshoorn. You will get various options to stay in here based on your budget. Though all the hotels situated in both Oudtshoorn and Knysna are pretty amazing. The properties and even the stay are just wonderful.

So, this place is named the “ostrich capital of the world”. It is located in the western cape province of South Africa. This is home to vary many ostriches and is, therefore, home to the world’s largest ostrich population. The main economy is based on ostrich farming and the tourism industries.

This is the largest town in the Little Karoo region and is located in the middle of the two famous mountain ranges that is Swartberg and Quteniqua. This place attracts thousands and varies many local people, tourists throughout the year. Considered to the very famous and major attractions in South Africa. The beauty is just mind-blowing, with a beautiful scenic view and exceptional contrasts and natural beauty. It is the capital city of Klein Karoo.

from the ostriches, the place is very famous for the Knysna national park and even the most amazing Cango Caves. The route is just so wonderful as you pass through the very famous Garden Route. With magnificent mountain passes, red rocks, and the beauty surrounding it it’s just magical.

All the major tourist attractions are located within a nearby range of Oudtshoorn. The drive is just must be needed especially for those who enjoy long scenic drives.

After a very nice scenic journey, we stopped by half of the way after traveling for around 3 hours. It was a nice stop somewhere in the middle with a nice place to eat and hang around. As you pass through, you will get to see areas of high jumping. They are famously known as Bungee jumping. Even the world’s highest bridge bungee jump is located here in South Africa.

We enjoyed a really nice view and a tasty meal. Lots of options are available along the route for restrooms, and food.

Thank you for reading us. We will be back with the continuation part of the famous Garden Route.

Thank you,
