Reaching the smallest beach in the world
The name of the smallest beach in the world first made me think of another country – Gulpiyuri Beach. What was your first thought? Feel free to write it in the comments 😛 Before we get to the location of the beach, some important information to know:
- Yes, it is a sandy beach
- Yes, it consists of saltwater (very clear water)
- And last but not least – Yes, there are even waves!
This small beach is located on the Asturian coast, between Llanes and Ribadesella. The title of the smallest beach in the world goes to – Spain! 🙂 You can only get to the smallest beach in the world on foot because it is situated in the center of a meadow.
If you want to spend a few hours on this beach, you should leave early in the morning. The reason is obvious, this small beach is not even 50 meters long. Of course, there are no sunbeds or beach bars or anything like that. So we recommend you provide yourself with a little pick-nick. Please do not leave any trash on the beach so that others can also enjoy this beautiful place.
Where to stay when visiting the smallest beach in the world?
Of course, we have some great recommendations for accommodation if you feel like visiting the smallest beach in the world on your next trip to Spain.
Hotel Sablón (Llanes)
The location of this hotel is simply spectacular. Right on a cliff you can enjoy the beachfront. Obviously, the nearest beach is also just a few meters away. But also in the old town of Llanes you are within a few minutes.
Gran Hotel del Sella (Ribadsella)
This hotel can be found next to Santa Marina Beach. It is a historic mansion and offers an outdoor swimming pool and a spa with a sauna. This elegant hotel is set on the seafront in Ribadesella, a pretty resort on the Green Coast of Asturias.
Casafer (Naves)
I especially liked this accommodation. You can rent a bike for free and ride to the smallest beach in the world. After an eventful day, you can then relax in the wonderful garden.
During your stay in the beautiful Asturias, you can also explore many caves and take incredibly beautiful hikes through nature. A highly recommended place – not only because of the smallest beach in the world.
