Welcome back to another blog post! This time a special one as many of you had requested and it will mention some of the best waterfalls you can visit in Bali!
I’ll share all the locations, some tips, and the prices for each waterfall. Together with the waterfall picture, I’ll share its location on a map so you can see where it is in Bali and see if you can visit it during your itinerary I’ll also share distances from Ubud, Uluwatu, Munduk, and Sidemen!
I’ll show them by my order of preference, starting with the ones who I think you shouldn’t miss on a trip to Bali! Let’s begin chasing waterfalls!
Kanto Lampo
This one is probably one of the most famous and most touristic waterfalls in Bali and it’s easy to understand why.
While most of the waterfalls are from lush green or simple rocks, here are the waterfalls from pitch-black huge rocks that make this place look so so unique!
You don’t have to walk much to access it, which is great and the entrance fee is only 10,000 IDR (0,59€ / 0,71$ / 0,54 GBP)! On the way down you have several souvenir stands and a small stand in the parking area where you can also get some drinks and food.
A specific tip for this one: take water shoes with you as the path is in rocks and as they’re wet, they are very much slippery. If you want to take the famous shot on the rocks please be careful so you don’t get hurt.

Tukad Cepung
This waterfall comes in second place for only one reason: it is light! The way the light enters the waterfall is simply amazing and gives a very special environment in this place! The rock formations around it make it also seem like you’re inside a cave, so this place is really special! The entrance cost is 10,000 IDR (0,59€ / 0,71$ / 0,54 GPB).

Banyumala Twin Waterfalls and Banyuwana Amertha Waterfalls
These ones earn third place due to their magnitude! They are located side by side and the access is the same, so I decided to place them together. Actually, in the area, there are 4 waterfalls and the entrance ticket allows you access to all of them! The ones I mention above are the two biggest ones and the name comes from them. The ticket is only 30,000 IDR (1,76€ / 2,13$ / 1,61 GBP). As you can see if you open the map image, there are a lot of waterfalls in this area.
For this one be ready to walk a lot and to totally emerge in nature, I can say without any doubt that it will blow your mind to be surrounded by so much nature! The way down is quite long, so if you don’t feel good enough to come up on a walk there are some locals who offer you a ride up on a motorbike and you can just agree on the price with them.

Tibumana
This is a great waterfall for those of you who like to go for a swim! The entrance cost is 10,000 IDR (0,59€ / 0,71$ / 0,54 GBP) and if you wish you can rent a locker for an additional 5,000 IDR.

Red Coral, Labuhan Kebo, and Melanting Waterfalls
Although these are 3 independent waterfalls they are very close to each other, so by visiting one you can also visit the other two. The Red Coral waterfall is located a 20 minutes walk from the other two that are 2 minutes apart from each other.
They are in a very natural part of Munduk, so you’ll get nature and peace feeling like in no other place!
The Red Coral (also known as Munduk waterfall) has the easiest access of them all and the Melanting one is a real challenge! More than 400 steps (please note that stairs in Indonesia are huge, not like the ones in Europe for ex.) on the island climate is not an easy task, but it will be worth it!

Labuhan Kebo: 10,00 IDR (0,59€ / 0,71$ / 0,54 GBP)
Melanting: 10,00 IDR (0,59€ / 0,71$ / 0,54 GBP)

Distance from Munduk: 20m (if you’re staying in Munduk you can also walk to the waterfalls)
Distance from Sidemen: 2h30
As you can see most of the waterfalls are located closer to Munduk or to Ubud, so if you’re planning to chase some waterfalls while in Bali try to do it while you’re in one of these places.
I would like to leave the note that the tickets stand normally open at 7h/8h, so if you visit any of these waterfalls earlier you won’t need to pay for a ticket! However (and I know this will sound weird) I would say you should pay at the exit if you haven’t done it at the entrance. And why do I say this? I visited all the waterfalls I mentioned above and all of them are super clean the locals take really good care of the places, which as you might know is not always the case in western countries. The money you give (which by the way is so less for us!) makes a big difference for the locals, so if you can try to support them and the places as much as you can!
I had some waterfalls on my list that I had no time to visit but will leave you here the names and the closest locations in case you want to add them to your list. Won’t say much about them, as I didn’t visit any of the following:
- Gitgit Waterfall / 30 minutes from Munduk
- Aling-Aling Waterfall / 1h from Munduk
- Kroya Kembar Pucuk / 1h from Munduk
- Sekumpul / 50 minutes from Munduk
- Tegenungan waterfall / 20 minutes from Ubud
